Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how ContextByte Automation accesses and uses Google and YouTube data.
Purpose
ContextByte Automation is a personal automation tool used by the owner of the ContextByte YouTube channel to publish approved videos, review channel performance and learn from public audience feedback. It is not a public SaaS product and is not offered to unrelated third parties.
Google and YouTube data accessed
The application may access the following data after the channel owner grants permission through Google OAuth:
- YouTube channel and video metadata needed to identify and manage ContextByte content.
- Permission to upload videos to the authorised YouTube channel.
- YouTube Analytics reports for the authorised channel, including performance metrics such as views, watch time and engagement.
- Public comments and related public engagement information on recent ContextByte videos, used to identify audience questions and content feedback.
The application requests only the OAuth scopes needed for these functions.
How data is used
Google and YouTube data is used only to operate the ContextByte publishing and analytics workflow, including uploading approved videos, recording publication results, evaluating content performance and using public audience questions or feedback to inform future ContextByte topics.
Storage and security
OAuth credentials are stored as protected secrets in the private ContextByte automation repository and are not committed to public source code. Public website files do not contain OAuth credentials, refresh tokens or private YouTube data. Operational snapshots such as channel analytics and recent public comments may be retained in the private automation repository for content-performance analysis.
Sharing and sale of data
ContextByte Automation does not sell Google user data. It does not share Google user data with advertisers, data brokers or unrelated third parties.
Retention
Only data needed to operate the channel and evaluate content performance may be retained. The channel owner controls the connected Google account and can revoke application access at any time.
Revoking access and deletion
The channel owner can revoke ContextByte Automation's access from their Google Account permissions. After access is revoked, the application can no longer access new Google or YouTube data. Stored automation data can be deleted from the private automation repository by the channel owner.
Google API Services User Data Policy
ContextByte Automation's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
